We
met during a coaches training workshop in Washington,
D.C. in March 2003. Our connection was immediate and empowering. As
a result, we agreed to take turns coaching each other in the weeks
that followed. Several months later, an idea was born.
We
decided to create a workshop that would support the
skills needed to build a successful business and a fulfilling life.
We asked ourselves, "What attributes separate the top perfomers from
the also-rans when it comes to building a thriving business?" "What
qualities are the foundation of a meaningful life?"
The ingredient
that was missing for many, perhaps the majority, was
passion. Passion that exists when one's business-building efforts
are in full alignment with one's core values. Those who were
consistently growing their businesses were consistently growing
themselves. And, their business-growing efforts allowed for a full
expression of who they truly were and what they truly valued.
We researched, we
collaborated, we created and we designed. We even
disagreed! Our first choice for a title, Authentic Selling, was
already taken. Mary suggested Profit with Honor. Three simple words
conveyed everything we were trying to say. We knew immediately that
we had a winner. |
In
the weeks that followed, we fine-tuned our content,
and launched our first workshop live via tele-conference. Thus, we
learned another powerful lesson. The power of partnership and
connection is incredible. Collaboration and synergy between two or
more like-minded individuals working toward a shared objective will
move it along TEN times faster than if one attempts to do it alone.
We are grateful
to have shared this very special experience. We are also grateful
for all of those who have contributed with their personal
experiences, their points of view and their input - both positive
and constructive.
